The course is largely flat and consists of an outward leg of about 1 km, two laps of 4 km each and a return to the finish. The race is run on quiet, pleasant country lanes. The course touches the outskirts of Berkeley Village and passes the rear of the famous castle. The course has been accurately measured and certified.
The start is outside the former Berkeley Power Station, and the finish is outside the Nuclear Sports and Social Club.
Berkeley is midway between Bristol and Gloucester on the banks of the river Severn. From the A38 (accessed to the north or south from junctions 13 or 14 of the M5 respectively) follow signs to Berkeley. Carry straight on through the village, and the Sports & Social Club is about a mile further on next to the remaining Power Station buildings.
MapShowers and changing rooms are available at the Sports & Social Club. Unfortunately, the ladiies' changing rooms are very small, and hot water in both is likely to be available only to the fastest runners. A large gym area is available before and after the race.
St. Johns first aiders will be in attendance at the finish.
The bar facilities of the club are available to runners and their guests. (Cheap beer!). Hot food can be purchased. There is a smal childrens' play area outside, so bring the family!
A free beer is available to all finishers.
Prizes will be awarded in the usual categories, including:
First M, MV40, MV45, MV50, MV55, MV60, OAP
First L, LV35, LV40, LV45, LV50, LV55, OAP
First man or woman to break the course record
Men: Dan Robinson, Tipton Harriers, 30 min 22 seconds (2002)
Women: Fiona Phillips, City of Bath, 35 min 33 seconds (1994)
Proceeds from the race are shared between Dursley Open Door Club, which provides leisure facilities for people with physical disabilities or learning difficulties, and Dursley & District Athletics Club.
BAF attached runners £5-00, unattached runners £7.00. Entries on the night accepted at £2.00 extra.

Incidentally, the derogatory term "Berk" derives from a contraction of the rhyming slang "Berkeley Hunt".
